Welcome to Besmirch
You are hired to work a farm in Besmirch. Tend the crops for a greedy owner and a starving town. To make things worse, there are rumors of apocalypse. Stock up and Survive the gates of Hell.
In this Demo, you will be able to plant, water and harvest crops. Fight monsters. Hunt. Discuss with strange locals. Visit a large city. explore the wilderness and a cave that goes deeper than you can imagine. All in hopes to find what is truly behind those locked Mansion Doors.
Hide or fight
Stealthily hide in the bushes or go in guns blazing, managing this farm is far from safe.

This game has a really unique and creepy atmosphere! I love the combination of farming and horror — it’s something you don’t see every day. There are still quite a few bugs in the game, but that’s totally understandable for a solo dev project. I’m sure it’ll be awesome once the full release is out. Good job and keep going!
Thank you! I'll watch the video and try my best to fix whatever I can. It's definitely still buggy, but I'm making big movements in cleaning it up.
Hello again, I got a freeze when hitting a box with a scythe west of the house you follow that weird kid into. Unfortunately I had opened other boxes with a scythe so I am not sure what happened exactly.
My inventory had all the tools, and almost all slots filled except for the third from the right and the last one on the right.
Awesome, I was aware of this bug. It has to do with a very specific infinite loop that sometimes occurs when grabbing the last item to fill an inventory. I believe I have fixed it in the most recent version. I have not posted that to Itch yet. I will have it live on Steam on 5/13.
A very important point also to address is picking up a container erases everything inside. This would not be bad if there was a confirmation window to pick up the dresser, or just had the items inside saved, but it's too easy to accidentally erase tons of work from a mis-click.
Yes! Good point. I had written logic to not let chests be "Pickupable" if items were in it. However, that obviously isn't working. I'll resolve! Thanks for the heads up.
So I played again, waied till midnight to let the wolves come after me. They seemed to get weirdly stuck on me as they came to bite me and I swung my scythe out repeatedly, then the game crashed after a few got stuck in my character's spot.

Okay great! I think I resolved the issue. I will post the updated demo later.
The issue was:
1. The Boy got stuck, on save his path list was not saved and the game lost track of the path. I fixed that I believe.
2. The Wolves have the same issue! Apparently the boy was the real issue, but midnight is when the game saves about.
3. I fixed the wolves getting "weirdly stuck". They should no longer be hittable if they are "on you".
I had been playing up until I got some wolves chasing me outside, and I tried to fight only to get an error. I forgot to copy that and abort the game, however once I tried pressing the "load" button from the main menu, I got this error.

I really appreciate the testing. I have heard of the Wolf bug but that load bug is new to me. I think that error will actually fix another bug too lol. Thank you for posting! If you figure out the wolf bug, I'd be very grateful.
I'll play it again sometime soon and see if I can get that bug so I can post the report.
